April Update
Dear Do228 fans!
Once again I’m really happy to see, that we have so many great supporters! I am aware, that you are desperately waiting for updates and new pictures. And I would love to give those to you! However it’s not as easy, as it often seems. We are both quite busy at the moment, although we thought, we’d have more time by now - it’s totally not the case at the moment.
I have passed the theoretical exam and moved on to IFR training at my school. Now flying the Piper Seminole with Avidyne flightdeck - really nice! Tristan is somewhat busy with private life at the moment too. Please, keep in mind, that this is a developement blog. It’s our intention to show you how this project is coming along and offer some “behind-the-scenes” information. We will not make predicitons on when everything will be finished.
BUT, here’s actually some project news for you guys: We have been thinking a lot about how to develop and release this bird, so that the project in the end is worth the time, that we are spending with it. Tristan and I have decided to go FSX, since it opens a lot of new possibilities to us. We have been playing a lot with specular and bump maps. Guys, as soon as you see our 228 with those new textures, you will understand why FSX!
Also, we have started to develop a completely new, high detail 3D cockpit, which will be professionally rendered to give it a photo-real look. As soon, as there is something to show, you will see it!

The news sounds good. But, it means that again u will be taking a long time for its release? Not again! C’mmn guys u can simply release the FS2004 version 1st n FSX version a few days later. What about the work u have done for fs2004? U will waste it?

I have a thought! Why don’t u guys increase one more member who can help u guys when u r busy. I think the project can be completed soon with such task.

Congratulations on your exam Viktor … we are all happy !!! Thanks for letting us know on the development of the project, we hope to see soon some image !? Viktor a question: this model will be compatible is fs2004
and Fsx ???

Yes, we are planning to show you some pictures of the FSX work that we have done so far. We are going FSX only now, just as most developers do now, for reason.
The flight deck stuff you have seen so far is “waste”, as one of our members left the team and kept the files. It’s ok, we are redoing most of it now, creating new, clean FSX models and textures.
Once again, I have to tell you, we are not going to release unfinished work. And we do know, what it takes to finish the project. I have been into designing since FS98, with 3 commercial releases and lot of freeware.
So, please, just relax. Some day there will be a nice Do228 for you to fly. Until it’ finished, enjoy the pictures and try out some nice FS Aircraft that are already out there.

well good luck with your IFR exam. the news that it will be FSX only causes you to lose one more customer, and I believe you will lose many more, but it is absolutely your choice. Good luck with your training and this project.

I was already searching quite intense for any information about the Do228 but up to now I missed your site
Looks realy great !
I´m not only interessted in FS but as well in RC planes and build a modell of the Do228. The next version should become a little bit bigger and more detailed - thats the reason that I´m looking for draings, pictures etc - and I´m sure you have quite a bunch of data
Is it possible to share something ?

Hi there,
i just think about the possibility, that you sell your almost finished product. A flyable version for FSX but without sound- and panel-files. I would pay for it… Please think about this possibility.
